A Closed Crystal Geode in Cream and Light

Pale beige and cream give this closed crystal geode a gentle palette, scattered with white patches and small tan-brown marks. Its broadly rounded outline is far from smooth: uneven bulges, ridges and narrow grooves give the piece a character all its own. Bright light across the upper and front surfaces brings those irregular contours into focus, while the creases gather darker shadows.

The rough, granular-looking surface suggests a tiny terraced botanical garden in an imagined landscape, with winding paths following the grooves. No open cavity is visible, so attention stays on the outside: small cracks, changing contours and the contrast between light and shade. Even the scattered tan-brown marks have their part, breaking up the pale colours like little accents along an uneven hillside.
