Aventurine – Raw – 0.3-0.6 kg

Aventurine’s Garden of Rough Edges

Mottled green and blue-green give this raw aventurine a richly varied surface, scattered with white flecks and pale cream patches. Its roughly triangular outline rises to an uneven peak above a broad lower edge. Small highlights catch the raised, granular ridges, while deeper grooves hold darker shades.

Aventurine’s name traces back to an Italian expression meaning “by chance,” through the name of glittering aventurine glass. That little turn of language feels at home here, among pale streaks and scattered markings that offer no tidy pattern to follow.

Seen as a miniature garden, the grooves become narrow paths between green slopes, and the cream-coloured patches open into clearings. There is something inviting about this rugged landscape: even its highest, uneven crest is dotted with white.
