Amethyst’s Curving Paths of Purple
Curved milky-white bands wind between purple and pale lavender in this amethyst pendant. Its glossy surface catches bright highlights, while partly translucent areas give some of the purple a softer depth. The broad, irregular shape has curved edges and an inward notch.
Fine crisscrossing lines, pale flecks and cloudy patches invite a closer look, with small yellow-brown marks scattered among the colours. Amethyst takes its name from the Greek amethystos, a word tied to an old belief about sobriety.
Those winding bands suggest a tiny terraced garden, with lavender paths turning around pale, cloudlike borders. It is an imagined landscape shaped by this pendant’s own contrasts: glossy flashes of light above purple stretches that seem to recede beneath the surface.
